There have been lots of great tutorials out there in the blogosphere upon how to paint the front door.  I’ve review the garland of them, as great as I’m gonna be honest, what follows here is  not gonna be the single of them, lol.  In fact, it should substantially be called The Lazy Man’s Guide to Painting the Front Door.  Or, some-more realistically, The Harried Mom’s Guide. 

If you’re indeed anal about we do things ‘the right way’, afterwards we competence wish to spin divided prior to being frightened .  The experts – which btw, we am not, as will turn strikingly obvious – will discuss it we to wait for for for the widen of undiluted weather, to take your doorway off the hinges, to silt it, to budding it, to mislay the close as great as handle…and to wait for for weeks for the paint to deteriorate prior to unresolved anything that competence repairs the finish.

And, really, with all the abuse my doorway gets from wreathes as great as unwashed small hands, it’s gonna need re-painting each year.

So because worry?

Step One:

Buy the tall quality, fast-drying paint, exterior paint – with the authority built in.

I used Behr’s, that btw, was churned during Home Depot regulating the Martha Stewart tone during my request.

In box you’re wondering, the tone is Artesian Well, MSL117.

(P.S. My doorway had the latex undercoat, so we used the latex paint again.  If your doorway has an oil-based paint, greatfully deliberate an consultant during the paint store upon the most appropriate product for your door.)

Step Two:

Tape off the hoop as great as close with great peculiarity painter’s tape.  I used Frog Tape.

Step 3:

Paint the recessed areas initial with the great peculiarity brush.

Step 4:

Paint initial cloak with the froth roller, operative from the inside out.  Let dry. Repeat.

Step 5:

The subsequent day, go forward as great as cling to your doorway decor.    And, don’t be concerned about the handprints.

You can paint over them again subsequent year!
